My name is Heather. Could I ask what they "sold" you?

I've started getting mail and phone calls, and when I questioned where they got my contact information, the girl said the same list that colleges use. Um, what? Colleges don't have a list - you seek them.out, generally. I'm just so confused as to what this even is.

I'm on the East Coast, and this Co is in Nevada.....any help you could provide me with would be awesome.
